استقبل المهندس كريم بدوي وزير البترول والثروة المعدنية السفير ميكيلي كواروني سفير إيطاليا في القاهرة بمقر الوزارة بالعاصمة الإدارية ، حيث بحث الجانبان فرص زيادة حجم التعاون بين قطاع البترول و الشركات الإيطالية في قطاعات الطاقة والتعدين.
وفي بداية اللقاء أكد المهندس كريم بدوى أن عمق علاقات الصداقة بين مصر و إيطاليا يقود إلى المزيد من علاقات التعاون بينهما في قطاع الطاقة والذي يشهد تاريخاً طويلاً من العمل والشراكة الاستراتيجية الممتدة .
و ثَمّنَ الوزير الدور المتميز للشركات الإيطالية وفي مقدمتها شركة إيني التي يرتبط قطاع البترول معها بشراكة استراتيجية وطيدة علاوة علي شركتي تكنيب انرجيز و سايبم ، و ان مصر تدعم تطوير وزيادة حجم التعاون مع الشركات الإيطالية في انتاج الطاقة و تنمية موارد مصر من البترول والغاز الطبيعي ، مؤكدا أن التزام قطاع البترول بتذليل التحديات و دعم الاستثمار يمكن البناء عليه لزيادة استثمارات الشركات الإيطالية ، لافتاً الي الفرص المتاحة لزيادة التعاون في مجالات البتروكيماويات والطاقة الخضراء والتعدين.
ومن جانبه قال السفير الإيطالي ميكيلي كواروني أن العلاقات مع مصر علاقات تاريخية ، وان التعاون والشراكة مع مصر أولوية بالنسبة لإيطاليا في قارة أفريقيا.
و اعرب السفير الإيطالي عن اهتمام بلاده بالتعاون مع مصر في مجال صناعة التعدين و بحث فرص ضخ استثمارات في مشروعات تصنيع الخامات التعدينية لتعظيم القيمة المضافة منها.
كما استعرض اللقاء ما يقوم به قطاع البترول حالياً من خطوات للإعداد لإقامة مشروع انتاج وقود الطيران الاخضر والمستدام من زيت الطعام المستعمل والمعروف بإسم SAF في إطار استراتجيته للمشروعات الخضراء ، حيث يعد مجال انتاج وقود الطيران الاخضر والمستدام محل اهتمام من الجانب الإيطالي للتعاون بشأنه مع مصر في إطار خطة ماتي الإيطالية لإفريقيا ، لاسيما مع تزايد الطلب أوروبياً علي هذا النوع من الوقود .

هذا وكان المهندس كريم بدوي وزير البترول و الثروة المعدنية، قد استقبل في وقت سابق أول أمس السفير أكسل وابنهورست سفير أستراليا بالقاهرة ، و ذلك لبحث سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك في قطاع التعدين، و موقف التعاون في مجالات البترول و الغاز.
واستعرض الجانبان أوجه التعاون و جذب استثمارات الشركات الأسترالية في مجال التعدين، وذلك بحضور المهندس علاء حجر وكيل الوزارة للمكتب الفني، و أوضح المهندس كريم بدوي في هذا الصدد أن قطاع التعدين المصري يشهد جهوداً لتحسين مناخ الاستثمار و تهيئة البيئة لجذب استثمارات جديدة و استقطاب المزيد من الشركات خاصة الشركات الأسترالية للتعدين التي نطمح لتواجدها بشكل قوي في مصر في ظل ما تتمتع به من سمعة كبيرة وتكنولوجيات متقدمة في هذه الصناعة عالمياً.
أكد الوزير على أهمية تطوير عقود الاستغلال التعدينية بهدف تشجيع و تحفيز المستثمرين و ذلك امتداداً لما تم من تطوير في مجال عقود البحث و الاستكشاف ، كما لفت الوزير إلى أن منجم السكري للذهب في مصر يعد نموذج عالمي متطور للاستثمار التعديني يمكن تكراره و دعا الوزير إلى تنظيم لقاء للمستثمرين والشركات الأسترالية للوقوف على الفرص و مجالات ضخ الاستثمارات فى مصر بقطاع التعدين.
من جانبه أكد السفير الأسترالي أكسل وابنهورست أهمية زيادة التعاون مع مصر و خاصة في مجال التعدين و الهيدروجين والطاقة الجديدة مشيراً إلى أن الشركات الأسترالية للتعدين تولي اهتماماً بالاستثمار في مصر وتتابع عن كثب ما يشهده هذا القطاع من تطوير وتحسين ، و أنه التقى مؤخراً بالعديد من الشركات الأسترالية العاملة في التعدين و الهيدروجين التي أعربت عن تطلعها للعمل مع مصر.
